Gianluca Daglio

Italian-Mexican guitarist Gianluca Daglio focuses his work on the construction of sound and form as spaces for dialogue between different musical languages, traversing repertoires from different eras.

His artistic research develops through an interpretative approach that combines ancient music, modern repertoire, and contemporary creation, with a particular focus on the quality of timbre, formal clarity, and narrative sense of sound. He has collaborated with composers such as Angelo Gilardino, Kevin Swierkosz-Lenart, Oscar Bellomo, and Edoardo Dadone, resulting in the dedication and premiere of new works.

He graduated from the Conservatorio de las Rosas in Michoacán (Mexico) under the guidance of Rodrigo Neftalí López Alarcón and obtained a two-year degree with full marks and honors from the Guido Cantelli Conservatory in Novara under the guidance of Luigi Biscaldi, developing a project on contemporary music for guitar.

Winner and finalist of numerous international competitions, including the Angelo Gilardino Prize, the Taxco International Prize, the Rospigliosi Competition, and the Manuel M. Ponce Competition, Gianluca also engages in intense chamber music activity. He is a founding member of ensembles such as "Fiori Musicali", dedicated to 16th-17th century neo-Spanish music, and works regularly in the Duo della Pianura with Alessandro Ciusani.

He plays instruments built by Fernando Huipe Avilés (Paracho, Mexico) and Marco Maguolo (Venice, Italy).
